Gymnasium   Gymnasium      UMC photo Land was purchased across 1st Avenue from Pfeiffer Hall for the new gymnasium  It was completed in 1937.  It was destroyed by fire on September 13, 1954.  Friends of the seminary provided funds to build the "Friends" Gym which was located behind Pfeiffer Hall.   Gymnasium      UMC photo Students congregating on the steps of the gym.   Outdoor Basket Ball Court      UMC photo Before the gym was constructed basketball games were played on an outdoor court.  This was acceptable except in cases of rain, snow, cold, mud, and at night.
